Nasrin Barmaki and Mark Hernandez are Argentine Tango dancers, teachers and choreographers based in Dallas, Texas. The now married pair ardently brings their love, romance, and elegance to every move on every dance floor.
Nasrin Barmaki is an interdisciplinary artist with an eclectic dance background. She has taught Argentine Tango at UT Southwestern Medical School, University of Texas and SMU in Dallas for 10 years. Her art is an intricate and passionate tapestry of diverse styles of dance, music, yoga and martial arts. She is the founder of TangoAmor, a dance group in Dallas, which is often invited to perform in events and dance festivals. Since 2006 she has been internationally teaching, choreographing and performing Tango in many cities in the world. She has also trained a few of the tango teachers in Dallas and other cities in the United States. Her talented partner, Mark Hernandez, is an elegant Argentine tango dancer with a rich background in Tai Chi, Kinesiology and biomechanics. With their vast understanding of movement, dance and connection, they continue their Argentine Tango journey together as both dance and life partners. Their collective professional resume includes collaborations with Dallas Symphony, Chamber Music International, Fort Worth Symphony, and choreographing several Tango shows including Nostalgia, Pasion de Tango and TangoAmor.
They hold regular Group Tango classes at Clique Studios every Sunday & Wednesday, and are the organizers of an Argentine Tango dance social (Milonga), which includes an open to the public, free dance lesson held on the 2nd Saturday of every month.
